Oct 2009 Issue |
Greetings from the Grapevine Editorial Team
This issue, we had the pleasure of covering one of the year's most anticipated events - the NYAA Gold Award Ceremony and the GAHA Orientation for new members in 2009. We all know how the GAHA membership has increased exponentially over the years, and this year is no different.
Our GAHA members also share their experiences in the recent Ramadan-On-Wheels event - a charity event in conjunction with Hari Raya Puasa and LEAF @ NYAA - specially organised for young ladies to garner more knowledge about the Singapore Armed Forces. We also hear from a GAHA member who shares with us his experience attending the YO! Forum and another overseas member who shares with us her experience studying and completing her NYAA Gold Award in China.
Till our next issue of the Grapevine, enjoy reading and keep in touch with GAHA!
Yours sincerely,
GAHA Grapevine Editorial Team |

Yo! Forum

Too often, youths like us tend to attach too many stereotypes to ageing. We think of ageing as a process associated with the gradual loss of youthful exuberance and liveliness, we too often think that the older generation unlike us, lack creativity and, if we were to quote another line from the poem, ’must bid the Muse go pack, Choose Plato and Plotinus for a friend’. See how attending the YO! Forum has changed a GAHA member's perspective on the issue of ageing, particularly in highlighting causes, which youths can serve. More>> |
