Singapore Youth Award 2007 (Team Category)

For its achievements, as well as contributions to the community and youth development, the National Youth Achievement Award Gold Award Holders’ Alumni (GAHA) was conferred the Singapore Youth Award (SYA) Medal of Commendation 2007. The Award Ceremony was graced by various public and private sector leaders, as well as the other SYA recipients and their guests. The guest-of-honour was DPM Prof S. Jayakumar.

Commonwealth Youth Award 05/06

The NYAA Gold Award Holders’ Alumni was awarded the Commonwealth Youth Award 05/06 (Silver) for the project “Bridging the Generation Gap”. The project was aimed at teaching youths dialects to enable them to communicate more effectively with the elderly. The Commonwealth Youth Awards were established to recognise the achievements of young men and women working in small groups. In particular, they aim to highlight projects, which show how initiatives can be planned, established and implemented by young people, offering inspiration to other groups of young women and men. Projects applying for the awards must have already been in existence for at least two years.

Guiness World Records

More than 10,000 NYAA participants successfully broke the existing record for the Longest Human Domino Chain held by the Netherlands. The event also helped to raise S$100,000.00 for charities. The NYAA-Poly Connects was officially endorsed by the Guinness World Records as the New World Record Holder in Februrary 2002.

Singapore Youth Award 2000 (Team Category)

The NYAA Gold Award Holders’ Alumni (GAHA) was conferred the Singapore Youth Award (Team) for the year 2000 for its outstanding leadership and contributions to the community and Singapore. The award was presented to the NYAA Gold Award Holders’ Alumni by Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana on Youth Day.

The Tribute Award 1999

The NYAA Gold Award Holders’ Alumni (GAHA) was awarded “The Tribute Award 1999″ in recognition of its outstanding voluntary service by the National Council of Social Service. The award was presented by The President of the Republic of Singapore, H. E. Mr S R Nathan.
